i am crazy about blogging lately, huh? you lucky people.
here's a question that people can weigh in on. the undergrads here have been doing this new (as in, new to me) thing where they paint one nail a different color than the rest. i thought that it was a UW-specific fad until i read in my most recent
Vogue or
Marie Claire or some similar sort of fashion-expert magazine that has been on the runways and sported by
celebrities over the course of the past year. so, before i met laura for dinner last week, i decided to give it a try. i haven't totally decided if i like it yet or not, though i suppose that it's telling that i haven't hated it enough to take it off yet. has anyone else given this a shot?
also, i can already tell that karen is going to love those veins sticking out of my hand. no question.
if nail painting conundrums aren't your thing, maybe you'll be more interested in this sandwich recipe that i tried this weekend. i have to say that i'm not usually into stuff from martha stewart (not that i actively avoid her either, i think she and i just don't tend to have overlapping tastes), but she totally hit the nail on the head with
this one. it's everything that goes into a cobb salad, but on a sandwich.
is it brilliant?
yep.
is it absolutely delicious?
yep.
did you already make it for yourself again?
you know i did.
thanks for that one, martha. i owe you.
okay, and in case neither nail painting nor yummy turkey sandwiches are your thing, i'll have you know that my run for tomorrow night has already been cancelled due to the outrageous predicted heat index. (good thing i got in two good runs this weekend, eh?) no worries, though, the apparent solution is to run on tuesday morning at 6am.
yeah, you read that right. AM.
i feel somewhat compelled to go, because if there is anything that the last two weeks have taught me, it is that it can be really frustrating to feel like i'm not meeting the goals that i'm setting for myself. unfortunately, getting up to run when it's not even morning out is not typically in my list of goals on any day. so, if you can't appreciate my trendy, polished nails and you can't love my new sandwich as much as i do, you can at least feel bad for me in that conundrum.
