got the fever?
it's true. we have the fever - the world cup fever, that is. before things started, matt & i chose 2 teams to root for. the U.S., obviously, and an at-large team whose basis for determination was a combination of who we felt an irrational liking for and who seemed like they might be a sneaky underdog. we chose the ivory coast.this ended up being an appropriate choice, because matt speaks a bit of french and i think that jenny wilson, chad phillips and i were IC delegates for the model UN in sixth grade.
so, for the second ivory coast game (we were in milwaukee for the first one), we prepared an ivory coast-inspired dinner. we made these fried bananas (which were not that good, to be honest)

and then we made an african tilapia recipe which was all over the ivory coast websites. it was actually quite tasty.
as some of you will know, both the US and the Ivory Coast are out of the world cup competition at this point.
but the Netherlands have become quite a fun team to cheer for.
so, i guess ga Nederland!
